17-Year-Old Boy Stranded in Hospital Due to Lack of Money

Apr 17, Kathmandu - Seventeen-year-old Shiva Sada from Sindhuli's Dudhauli Municipality-7 has recovered after consuming poison and receiving medical treatment. However, due to financial constraints, he has not been discharged from a private hospital in Biratnagar.

The family is struggling to pay the treatment bill of NPR 130,000, which has left them in a difficult situation. Amidst their financial hardship, Shiva's mother has walked back to their village in an attempt to gather funds but remains unreachable.

The hospital has reportedly pressured the family to settle the payment. This incident has brought to light the ongoing issues of healthcare access and inequality in Nepal's health system.
