Tragic End to Youth Wounded in Clashes in Kapilvastu: Shooter's Bullet Claims Life

Apr 06, Kathmandu - ​​​​​​​A young man injured in the recent violence in Maharajgunj Municipality, Varagda, has succumbed to his injuries during treatment. 

Jitendra Yadav, 22, a resident of Bhutahaniya in Maharajgunj Municipality, passed away this morning at Chitwan Medical College, according to DSP Rupendra Kumar Singh of the Kapilvastu District Police Office.

Initially, his condition was reported to be improving, and he was moved to a ward by doctors. Unfortunately, he died while still in the hospital.

The incident dates back to March 7, when tensions escalated following clashes between Hindu and Muslim communities in Varagda village. During the unrest, security personnel fired shots to control the crowd, and Yadav was hit in the abdomen.

He was seriously injured and transported to Chitwan for treatment. DSP Singh stated that both Nepal Police and Armed Police had fired to restore order, and the investigation is ongoing to determine whose bullet struck Yadav.
