Farewell to the Wrestling team Heading to Kyrgyzstan

Apr 02, Kathmandu - Nepali wrestlers are set to compete in two different international competitions to be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

The players are set to compete in the Senior Asian Wrestling Championship to be held from April 5 to 12 and the Senior Asian Belt Wrestling Alice Championship to be held from April 12 to 14.

Suresh Chunara in the men's 74 kg category and Trilok Prasad Yadav in the 97 kg category will present Nepal's challenge in both competitions.

Suresh won bronze in the Asian Belt held in India last year.

The coach is Mumtaz Ali Idrisi. The three-member team, including the players, will leave for Kyrgyzstan on Chaitra 24.

Nepal Wrestling Association President Prakash Kumar Kusari, who is also a member of the National Sports Council (NSC) and will leave for Kyrgyzstan on Friday to participate in the United World Wrestling Asia Council general meeting to be held in Kyrgyzstan on April 5.

Wishing the team success, NSC member secretary Ramcharitra Mehta bid farewell on Thursday.
