Mar 30, Kathmandu - Former Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, who was detained over allegations related to the Gen-Z movement suppression, has been admitted to TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, for the past three days.
Oli was taken into custody by police early Saturday morning from his Baluwatar residence for investigation. Following his detention, he was taken for a medical check-up at the hospital. Doctors observed various health issues during the examination and advised hospitalization. According to hospital sources, Oli, who has undergone kidney transplants twice, is experiencing irregularities in his heart rhythm.
To monitor his cardiac activity, doctors have fitted him with a Holter monitor, which has been in place since Saturday evening. This device typically remains attached for at least 24 to 48 hours to record heart activity. In addition to the irregular heartbeat, doctors have detected gallstones and other health concerns, including kidney issues, diabetes, high blood pressure, and thyroid problems.
Hospital spokesperson stated, “Since irregularities were observed in his heart rhythm, doctors have been monitoring him with a Holter device. Further treatment will be planned once the report is received.”
