Mar 24, Kathmandu - Bagmati Province defeated Gandaki Province by 170 runs in today’s match of the Prime Minister Cup Cricket Tournament. Held at the Mulpani Cricket Ground, Bagmati set a formidable target after scoring 294 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs.
Chasing a massive 295-run target, Gandaki’s innings faltered early, and they were bowled out for just 124 runs in 31.5 overs. Arjun Kumal was the top scorer with 74 runs, but he lacked significant support from his teammates.
Bagmati’s bowlers showcased their prowess, with Rijan Dhakal claiming 3 wickets. Sandip Lamichhane and Ishan Pande took 2 wickets each, while Dayanand Mandal and Subash Khatri picked up one wicket apiece.
Earlier, Ishan Pande was the standout with a blistering 71 runs off 61 balls, guiding Baghmati’s strong batting display. Ashutosh Giri contributed 59 runs, and Shubh Kangsakar added 44. Captain Sandip Lamichhane remained unbeaten on 26 runs to anchor the innings.
