Mar 24, Kathmandu - A fatal accident occurred in Rupandehi district when a truck hit a motorcycle, resulting in the death of the rider.

According to police reports, a truck with license plate number Na 6 Kha 3430, heading from Bhairahawa to Butwal, struck a motorcycle at Kotihawa in Ward No. 15 of Tilottama Municipality. The motorcycle, registered in Madhesh Province, with number 03–029 P 5076, was severely damaged in the collision.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Umesh Gupta, a resident of Old Bus Park, Ward No. 6 of Butwal Metropolitan City. District Police Office, Butwal, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nishant Srivastava, confirmed that Gupta succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.

Gupta was rushed to Crimsan Hospital in Manigram, where he later died. 

The truck driver, 29-year-old Mukesh Kumar Chaudhary from Saptari, has been taken into police custody for further investigation.
