Mar 24, Kathmandu - Kathmandu police have apprehended 22-year-old Ashok Lama of Darimbot, Namo Buddha Municipality-8, Kavre, on charges of character assassination of a minor on social media.

According to the police, the arrest was made based on a complaint that intimate images and videos of the victim were being circulated via a Telegram account. The Cyber Bureau launched an investigation and detained Lama in connection with the case.  

He is currently in police custody, with a five-day extension granted by the Kathmandu District Court to conduct further investigations under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063. Authorities are continuing their inquiries into the incident.
