Mar 23, Kathmandu - One person died today when a tanker hit a scooter in Nipani, Ratnanagar Municipality-9 here. The deceased has been identified as Mina Regmi, aged 35, of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-7.

According to Police Inspector Dipak Rijal of the District Police Office, a tanker (Lu 2 Kha 2894) coming from Khairhani towards Bharatpur hit a scooter (Na 55 Pa 077) coming from the inner road. Regmi, who was riding behind the scooter, died in the collision. The tanker also hit a stopped motorcycle (Na 65 Pa 7883, Na 55 Pa 8083) and a bicycle.

The scooter driver, Purna Sapkota of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-7, sustained minor injuries, said Police Inspector Rijal. Police have taken 24-year-old Sujan Tamang of Rapti Municipality-7 into custody.
