Mar 23, Kathmandu - In a recent development, the Federal Parliament Secretariat has restructured the management of parliamentary offices for parties representing the House of Representatives, aligning with their seat counts. Due to the incomplete construction of the new Parliament building, these offices continue to operate within the existing parliamentary secretariat premises.
Following the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21, which altered the seat distribution among the parties, the Secretariat has accordingly adjusted the office allocations. Federal Parliament spokesperson Ekrama Giri confirmed that the offices for major parties have been reassigned based on the new seat numbers.
The Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) have retained their previous offices, while the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) has been allotted the office previously used by the Nepal Independent Party. Additionally, the offices previously used by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have now been assigned to the CPN (UML), the Labour-Culture and Nationalist Party, and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Giri added.
He also mentioned that once the construction of the new multi-purpose hall is completed, parliamentary and related activities will shift to the new building. Meanwhile, the oath-taking ceremony for newly elected members will occur in the new Parliament building’s multi-purpose hall, the Parliament Secretariat announced.
