Qatar Military Helicopter Crashes in Maritime Zone, Six Soldiers Killed

Mar 22, Kathmandu - Amid escalating regional tensions in the Middle East, a Qatar military helicopter has crashed into the national waters, resulting in the loss of six lives, according to the Qatar Ministry of Defense.
The ministry stated that the helicopter, which was on a routine duty on Sunday morning, experienced a technical malfunction leading to the crash.

A search and rescue operation was swiftly launched, and the bodies of six of the seven crew members aboard the helicopter have been recovered. The pilot, Captain Saeed Nasser Samekh, remains missing, and search efforts are ongoing, the ministry confirmed.

In recent weeks, Qatar has been affected by regional unrest, including allegations that Iran targeted Qatar’s main gas plant last week. However, officials have not yet clarified whether the helicopter accident is directly related to the current regional tensions or recent developments with Iran.
