Mar 21, Kathmandu - President Ram Chandra Poudel has emphasized that the contributions of the Madhesi community in establishing Nepal’s citizen freedom and national unity are both historic and significant.

Addressing the seventh annual celebration and founding anniversary of the Madhesi Commission at Shital Niwas on Saturday, President Poudel stated, “It is essential for all Nepalese to share a common desire for independence, equality, social justice, good governance, and development.”

He praised the Madhesi community’s role in nation-building and expressed confidence that the Commission’s efforts over the past seven years to preserve the community’s identity and rights will be further elevated in the future.

The President also recalled the independence and impartiality granted to the Commission by the constitution and noted that the recently published report’s recommendations provide concrete guidance to address the community’s issues.
