High Court Orders Immediate Suspension of Dawa Lama's Candidacy

Mar 20, Kathmandu - The Supreme Court of Patan has directed a temporary suspension of claims by Dawa Lama, who has filed his candidacy for the position of Senior Vice President in the upcoming elections of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).

The court has called for a comprehensive discussion involving both supporters and opponents before reaching a conclusion on Lama's candidature. According to the order, the court will consider the matter after a joint discussion scheduled for Chaitra 10, and only then will a final decision be announced. The bench presided over by Justice Tejendra Prasad Sharma Sapkota issued the directive.

Dawa Lama, who previously served as ANFA Vice President, has a controversial past, including legal proceedings related to the 2064 drug case involving heroin. Despite these issues, Lama has registered his name again for the upcoming election, seeking the position of Senior Vice President.
