Mar 20, Kathmandu - The Nepali Congress has announced that it will unveil the timetable for its 15th General Convention at its next Central Committee meeting.
Party General Secretary Gururaj Ghimire confirmed this during a press briefing in Sanepa, stating that the schedule will be finalized after the ongoing Central Committee meeting concludes. He added that a subsequent meeting would be convened to finalize the convention’s timetable.
Ghimire also mentioned that the party will request Chairman Gagan Thapa to withdraw his resignation. Thapa had resigned from his post following a defeat in the recent elections.
Furthermore, the General Secretary clarified that the upcoming meeting would not discuss the date of the 15th General Convention, which was previously held in Kathmandu's Bhrikuti Mandap last Poush.
Today’s agenda includes discussions on Thapa’s resignation and an initial review of the recent House of Representatives elections. The Central Committee meeting at the party’s central office in Sanepa commenced at 1 PM today.
