Mar 20, Kathmandu - Iran has reportedly conducted airstrikes on Kuwait’s oil processing centers, following recent attacks in the Gulf region. Kuwait Petroleum Corporation confirmed multiple drone attacks on its oil refineries, although no human casualties have been reported so far.
According to official sources, a fire broke out at the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery, which required emergency response teams to work tirelessly to contain the blaze. As a result, several refinery units have been temporarily shut down.
The escalation comes in the wake of Iran’s retaliatory strikes after Israel targeted the South Pars gas field in its territory earlier this week. Iran has since targeted energy infrastructure in Gulf countries, including attacks on Qatar’s Ras Laffan energy complex on Wednesday and Thursday.
Despite Gulf nations’ efforts to safeguard their critical energy infrastructure, ongoing conflicts have repeatedly put these vital facilities in the crosshairs. As the holy month of Ramadan concludes with Eid al-Fitr celebrations, there are still no signs of an end to the hostilities, raising concerns over regional stability.
