Newly appointed Chinese Ambassador Zhang meets with National Assembly Speaker Dahal

Mar 16, Kathmandu - The newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Zhang Maoming, has paid a courtesy call on Chairman of the National Assembly, Narayan Prasad Dahal. During the meeting, which was held at Singha Durbar, they discussed the relations between the two countries, parliamentary cooperation, mutual assistance and contemporary issues.

Stating that the relations between Nepal and China are old, Chairman Dahal said that the relations between the two countries are strong and profound, not only at the diplomatic level but also at the people-to-people level.

Stating that the election to the House of Representatives was held on Falgun 21 and a new government is in the process of forming, Chairman Dahal expressed his appreciation for the difficult situation that arose after the Gen-Z movement and the support provided by the Chinese government during the election, according to Chairman Dahal's secretariat.

On the occasion, Ambassador Zhang said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Nepal have maintained friendly relations based on mutual benefits.

He said that after the exchange of visits by the presidents of both countries, cooperation and assistance between the two countries have increased significantly and the relations have reached new heights.

The meeting was attended by National Assembly Secretary Tul Bahadur Kandel, as well as employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Parliament Secretariat, and officials from the Chinese Embassy.
