Supreme Court Wraps Up Hearing on Kishori Sah’s Petition in Dhanusha-1 Election Dispute

Mar 13, Kathmandu - The Supreme Court has concluded hearings on a writ petition filed by Kishori Shah, the independent candidate who received the highest votes in Dhanusha-1 during the recently concluded House of Representatives election.

The petition was heard by a joint bench of Justices Saranga Subedi and Tek Prasad Dungana. The court is now deliberating whether to grant an interim order or not.

Shah filed the petition after the Election Commission disqualified her candidacy. She approached the Supreme Court on Falgun 19 challenging the Election Commission’s decision to cancel her candidacy.

Earlier, on Falgun 25, Justice Nṛpadhwaj Niraula’s bench issued a show-cause order in response to her petition, prompting further proceedings.
