Iranian Professor Alleges US and Israel Plot to Divide Iran into Smaller States

Mar 08, Kathmandu - A professor from Tehran University has accused the United States and Israel of planning to disintegrate Iran. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Professor Fouad Hijazi claimed that both nations are working on a scheme to break Iran into smaller, manageable regions. He pointed to comments by former U.S. President Donald Trump, suggesting that the U.S. might redraw Iran’s map following potential conflicts. The strategy could involve "Balkanizing" Iran, with a focus on the oil-rich areas around the Persian Gulf, particularly in the northern parts of the Gulf, also known as the Arabian Gulf.

He believes Trump is interested in securing control over Iran’s lucrative oil fields, possibly delegating responsibility for these regions while leaving the rest of the country divided or abandoned. Hijazi warned that Israel and the U.S. might even eliminate Iranian leaders to facilitate this redrawing of borders, aiming to weaken Iran’s government and reshape its national structure.
