Director Anil Budha Magar Wraps Up Filming of ‘Mitjiu’

Feb 24, Kathmandu - Nepali filmmaker Anil Budha Magar has successfully completed the shooting of his latest film, 'Mitjiu'. Remarkably, the entire filming process was wrapped up within just one month after the start of shooting.

The filming commenced on the auspicious occasion of Vasanta Panchami, with a traditional muhurat ceremony held at the Ambikeshwari Temple in Dang. Producer Janak Gharti Magar confirmed that the shooting was completed swiftly, attributing the efficiency to the smooth cooperation of the cast and crew.

Mitjiu is a social drama set against the scenic backdrops of Dang and Rolpa. The film features prominent actors including Dayahang Rai, Saugat Malla, Teriya Phounja Magar, Puskar Gurung, Shishir Bandung, Raj Thapa, Subarna Thapa, Anu Thapa, Smita Lamichhane, Arun Pun Magar, Uttam Raj Pande, Sabin Kattel, Umesh Sonam, Pabitra Khadka, Chahana Rana Magar, Anusha Rai, and Khadga Bahadur Pun Magar. Notably, Teriya Magar makes her acting debut with this film.

Director Anil Budha Magar shared that the shooting was a joyful experience, emphasizing that the collective effort of everyone involved contributed to completing the project efficiently within a month. This is Magar's second directorial venture, following his successful debut film 'Gharjwai'.

The production was managed by Dhan Bahadur Rai (Nepali), with Firoz Khadka serving as the assistant director. Other key team members include assistant directors Anil Dahal, Sanju Nepali, and Almira Rai. The film's production design was handled by Kishor Nepal, costume design by Sangeeta Roka Magar, with editing by Lokesh Bajracharya. Shishir Bishankhe was the cinematographer, while the art workshop was led by Bholaraj Sapkota.

Action choreography was directed by Prabhat Bista, with sound design by Nabin Shrestha. The musical score will be composed by Shree Krishna Bam Malla, with songs performed by Malla, Melina Rai, and Laxmi Malla.
