Clash at Himalayan Food Company in Sindhuli Leaves Seven Workers Injured

Feb 23, Kathmandu - A violent altercation between Nepali and Chinese workers at Himalayan Food Company in Marin Rural Municipality-4, Sahan, has resulted in injuries to seven individuals. Among the injured are two Nepali workers and five Chinese nationals.

According to District Police Office Sindhuli DSP Surya Prakash Subedi, 30-year-old Nepali worker Nawaraj Bamjan from Dhamile, Sindhuli-6, sustained injuries to his right eye and leg. Another Nepali worker, Gorkarna Katuwal, 22, from Katari Municipality-12, Udayapur, was injured in the head.

The Chinese workers injured in the incident include 38-year-old Mr. Yang, 45-year-old Yang Haibo Baya, 40-year-old Chyang Chong, 46-year-old Chujen, and 31-year-old Leu Sensi. DSP Subedi stated that injuries to their ears, heads, hands, chests, and faces are being treated at Kapilakot Primary Health Center.

The violence reportedly broke out following a dispute over the termination of Navaraj Bamjan's employment. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
