Meeting at the Home Office regarding Dhading Bus Accident, Investigation Committee Formed

Feb 23, Kathmandu - A decision has been made to investigate the recent bus accident in Thadling. Following a significant loss of life and property, a meeting held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday decided to form a committee to probe the incident, according to Ministry spokesperson Rama Acharya.

After the accident, discussions were held among Home Minister Om Prakash, the Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, the Director General of the Road Department, representatives from the Transport Business Federation, heads of all security agencies, and relevant stakeholders. During the meeting, it was agreed to establish a committee to investigate the incident.

The accident involved a bus with the license plate number GA 2 KHA 1421, which was en route from Pokhara to Kathmandu. The bus fell off the Trishuli Riverbank at Beni Ghatt, Rorang Rural Municipality-5, Bhainse Ghauda, Thadling, around 1 a.m. on Sunday.

So far, 18 people have lost their lives in the accident. Seventeen died at the scene, while one succumbed during treatment at the Trauma Center.

According to police, ten individuals, including a woman, were brought to the National Hospital in Kalanki, and 15 others were taken to the Trauma Center. One young man died at the Trauma Center, and 14 others are currently receiving treatment.
