Feb 15, Kathmandu - Police have arrested 155 people from the Pashupatinath temple area on Sunday. SP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, said that 155 people were arrested on suspicion of being involved in disorderly activities in the Pashupati area on the occasion of Maha Shivratri.

Those arrested include those involved in chain robbery, theft and drug (marijuana) dealing. SP Bhattarai said that some were taken into custody while engaging in disorderly activities and some were taken into custody on suspicion of being involved in disorderly activities. He said, "Based on prior information, we have taken some suspects into custody for investigation."

The arrested have been kept at the Police Circle Gaushala. SP Bhattarai said that they will be charged after screening.
