Trump Orders Deployment of World's Largest Warship to Middle East

Feb 14, Kathmandu - US President Donald Trump has ordered the world's largest warship to be deployed to the Middle East.

He confirmed on Friday that he had ordered the deployment of the world's largest warship, the USS Gerald R. Ford, to the Middle East.

"The aircraft carrier will soon leave for the Middle East. If there is no deal with Iran, the USS Gerald R. Ford will be needed," Trump was quoted as saying by the BBC in the news.

According to the BBC Persian service, the Associated Press had previously reported that the world's largest aircraft carrier had been ordered to leave the Caribbean Sea for the Middle East.

Trump also made a statement about regime change in Iran. When asked by a reporter, he said, "Regime change would be the best thing that could happen."

After Trump's order, the US Navy's most modern aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, will join the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and its task force.

The Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier arrived in the Middle East late last month. According to the BBC, the Gerald R. Ford is a nuclear reactor. It can carry more than 75 fighter jets, including FA-18 Super Hornet fighter jets and A-2 Hawkeye aircraft.

A nuclear reactor is a special type of device that produces large amounts of energy by controlling the process of nuclear fission. This energy is used to make electricity.
