Feb 10, Kathmandu - A devastating bus accident occurred on Tuesday morning when a passenger bus travelling from Sirise-Dhande in Ramechhap towards Okhaldhunga plunged into the Tamakoshi River. The incident resulted in the deaths of 12 individuals, with nine victims identified to date.

The bus, with registration number Baagmati Pradesh 01-005 KHA 9975, was travelling from Machanetar, Ramechhap, when it fell into the Tamakoshi River near Tamlung. The accident has left many residents in shock and mourning.

According to police reports, 7 men and 5 women lost their lives in the tragic incident. Eight others have sustained injuries and are receiving treatment. The bodies have been transported to Manthali Hospital, and rescue operations are ongoing with the support of the Armed Police's diving team.

Victims Identified So Far:

1. Babi Tamang, approximately 25 years old, from Bhimeshwor Municipality, Dolakha
2. Man Bahadur Tamang, approximately 60 years old, from Bhimeshwor Municipality, Dolakha
3. Dipesh Basnet, approximately 28 years old, from Liku Tamakoshi Rural Municipality, Ramechhap
4. Sanumaya Tamang, approximately 35 years old, from Liku Tamakoshi Rural Municipality, Ramechhap
5. Tara Tamang, approximately 31 years old, from Liku Tamakoshi Rural Municipality, Ramechhap
6. Bhim Bahadur Tamang, approximately 36 years old, from Liku Tamakoshi Rural Municipality, Ramechhap
7. Rameeta Tamang, approximately 16 years old, from Liku Tamakoshi Rural Municipality, Ramechhap
8. Dipendra Basnet, approximately 25 years old, from Liku Tamakoshi Rural Municipality, Ramechhap
9. Shiva Shrestha, approximately 34 years old, from Golanjor Rural Municipality, Sindhuli

The identities of the remaining three victims are yet to be confirmed. Authorities continue their rescue and investigation efforts to determine the exact cause of the accident.
