Feb 08, Kathmandu - Medical professional and coordinator of the National, Cultural, and Citizens' Defense Campaign, Durga Prasai, has been granted bail and is set to be released. An officer from the Cyber Bureau confirmed that the process for her release has been initiated.
Prasai was detained by Nepal Police last Friday from Chalnakhel on charges related to activities opposing the recent elections. She has also faced allegations of actions against public peace, having previously been arrested in Pokhara on Magh 5 for her involvement in activities deemed contrary to national unity, patriotism, religion, and culture. She was released on bail the following day, Magh 6.
The decision to release her on bail comes as legal proceedings continue in her case.
