Cricket Showdown in ICC T20 World Cup: Afghanistan Sets Target Against New Zealand, Nepal Faces England in Historic Debut

Feb 08, Kathmandu - In the fourth match of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, Afghanistan posted a formidable target of 183 runs against New Zealand. After winning the toss in Chennai, Afghanistan elected to bat and scored 182 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs.

Globe-trotting all-rounder Gulbadin Naib played a pivotal role, scoring 65 runs off 35 balls with four boundaries and three sixes. Other notable contributions came from Rahmanullah Gurbaz (27), Darwish Rasool (20), Azmatullah Omarzai (14), and Ibrahim Zadran and Mohammad Nabi, who remained not out with 10 runs each.

For New Zealand, Lockie Ferguson claimed two wickets, while Jacob Duffy, Rachin Ravindra, and Matt Henry each took one wicket.

Meanwhile, Nepal is making its third appearance in the T20 World Cup, and today marks a historic moment as they face England in their opening match of the tournament.
