Tragic Bus Collision in Dhading Claims One Life and Injures Several

Feb 08, Kathmandu - A devastating collision between two buses on the Mugling-Kathmandu highway in Dhading has resulted in one death and multiple injuries.

The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. today at a place called Thakre Ward 6, Daskilo, where a bus from Dang heading to Kathmandu and a bus from Kathmandu towards Rasuwa collided head-on. The buses involved are registered as Province No. 3–01–006–Kha 1552 and Bagmati Province 01–006–Kha 1552, respectively.

Following the collision, one of the buses struck a tin-roofed roadside shop, causing significant damage. Tragically, 35-year-old Sujan Tamang of Syaule, Dhunibeshi Municipality-9, Dhading, who was drinking tea near the shop, was pronounced dead during treatment at the district hospital. He was brought to the Trauma Center but succumbed to his injuries during medical care.

The accident also injured shop owner Khageshwar Sharma, 54, of Baijnath Rural Municipality, Baitadi, and an 8-year-old passenger from the bus heading towards Rasuwa, Successa Pulami Magar.

Police have detained the bus drivers involved and are conducting an investigation into the incident.
