Rautahat Police Arrest Man with Unexplained Cash During Checkpoint Operation

Feb 06, Kathmandu - Police in Rautahat have detained a man along with an undisclosed amount of cash during a routine check.

During a vehicle inspection at the Gaur Customs Office in Gaur Municipality-3, police stopped a motorcycle bearing the registration number BR30U7247, heading towards B.P. Chok. During the inspection, authorities discovered and seized Rs. 499,000 concealed inside a plastic bag tucked under the motorcycle's guard.

The suspect, 44-year-old Rakesh Prasad Kalwar, a resident of Gaur Municipality, has been taken into custody by the Raautahat District Police Office.

Further investigation is underway, and legal proceedings will be initiated according to the law, said Police Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Vishnu Pradeep Basyal.
