US military attack: Venezuela declares national emergency

Jan 03, Kathmandu - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has declared a national emergency.

The Venezuelan government has issued an official statement condemning and condemning the US military attack on its territory in the strongest terms. The government claims that the airstrikes on the capital Caracas are motivated by the aim of seizing Venezuela's strategic resources, including oil and minerals.

President Maduro has signed a special state decree, in response to the “external unrest,” and has ordered its immediate implementation. Venezuela has denounced the US move to the international community as a “very serious military aggression” and an attempt to forcibly violate the country’s political freedoms. The president has also ordered the military to implement all national defense plans at the appropriate time and under the appropriate circumstances.

The government has called on all social and political forces in the country to activate their mobilization plans and unite to resist this “imperialist attack.” The Maduro administration believes that the US is carrying out this attack with its eyes on Venezuela’s natural resources.

Security is now on high alert across Venezuela, and more details of the government statement are continuing to be released.
